Hi, I’m Chen Si (司宸), a Master’s student in Computer Science at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I previously earned my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Across my training, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with Prof. Hao Su, Prof. Romit Choudhury, and Prof. Lianhui Qin, which shaped how I think about building learning systems that can perceive, reason, and act in the real world.
Broadly, I’m interested in multimodal AI models—how to endow agents with robust perception, grounded reasoning, and reliable decision-making in open-ended environments. My long-term goal is to develop systems that combine rich sensory understanding with structured, test-time reasoning, so they can generalize beyond curated benchmarks and behave consistently under new situations. I’m especially excited by a two-way approach:
(1) grounding intelligence through computer vision and robotics, where models learn from geometry, dynamics, and interaction; and
(2) advancing reasoning-centric agents through language and memory, where models plan, reflect, and use tools to solve complex tasks.
I enjoy research that bridges these directions—linking what an agent perceives with what it can reason about—to move toward more trustworthy and capable embodied systems.

I’m currently applying to PhD programs (Fall 2026) and am also open to research internships for Summer 2026. If you think my background could be a fit—or you can connect me with relevant collaborators—please feel free to reach out. You can also find more details on my CV and LinkedIn.
